Dear Scholars and Families,
The Student Led Conferences were a great success and the scholars should feel very proud of themselves for their efforts to identify goals and strategies to achieve them. This is the work and the joy of a lifelong learner! I will be working with them this week to polish up any of the goals or steps that need it and I am looking forward to the partnership we have to help them move forward. Thank you for taking time out of busy work and family life, to spend this quality time together.
We have already come to the end of our second Learning Period! Time is flying by! On Monday, scholars need to be sure to bring these things, completed and well done:
1. PE LOG- 800 minutes of recorded activity and the skills worked on
2. Geology of Mars Log book ready for grading
3. Scientific Argument for the Channel on Mars: Lava or Water? (* many of you have already turned this in. If you need it printed still, we will double check this in class on Monday.)
4. Homeschool work: mathematics-1. Cuisinaire Creature- Mathematical Argumentation for the Surface Area and Volume of the creature.2. Pattern Block Area response page. Please return the Cuisinaire rods and pattern blocks if you borrowed some from me.
I am excited to start our new unit in science Plate Motion! We will be starting our math center rotations for Geometry and Measurement! Lots happening!
Thank you for having such great scholars to teach and learn with every day. I am grateful.
Warm Regards,
Carol Smith
